#53 of the 100 Story Challenge
How many stories have we missed?
Imagine all the tales that were never recorded or were forgotten when the last storyteller passed. The engravings weathered away and the manuscripts destroyed. What did those handprints on the cave wall mean?
What will be left after we end?
Picture when humanity fades and another species evolves to reign. Or when archaeologists from afar drop by to dig. What chronicles will they write about us?
What’s the point of recording anything if it all disappears?
Because we need stories NOW. We’re still here. We’re still trying to do better.
And there’s hope. Black holes have hair, an imprint of the information they absorb, says Stephen Hawking. And not even Katie Mack knows for sure how the universe will end.
